Two of myclimate projects were selected and announced as „Lighthouse Activities“ that combat climate change and contribute to the local communities. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, as well as the Secretary of the UNFCCC Christiana Figueres celebrated the nine activities selected.
They were reviewed by an international advisory panel as part of the UNFCCC’s Momentum for Change Initiative, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. „The examples are inspiring and encouraging, not least for governments who have already set the course towards greater climate resilience, but who need to take the next essential steps to galvanize the speed and scope of climate action,“ said Figueres.
Three of the myclimate partners and beneficiaries from the organic waste compost project in Nepal and four from the energy efficiency project for brick producers in Peru joined us at the celebration. This award is a great encouragement for our local partners and let us hope that these good examples will also encourage others to take action.

In Canada, myclimate has found a trustworthy and well-established partner in the environmental research and consultancy centre Unisféra, which launched in 2006 „Planetair„. Planetair was the first bilingual Canada-wide provider of Gold Standard carbon offsets for individuals and businesses.
Germany – myclimate Deutschland gGmbH
With myclimate Deutschland gGmbH, myclimate has a German subsidiary since the end of 2009. The non-profit organisation provides the same services in Germany as myclimate does in Switzerland.
Greece – Centre for Sustainability and Excellence
The Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) has its headquarters in Athens and further branches in Dubai and Brussels. It provides advice to businesses regarding sustainability and CSR.
India – ZenithEnergy
Zenith Energyis one of the leadig organisations in India successfully providing consultancy to clients in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency. Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), and environmental management.
Japan – myclimate Japan
myclimate Japan was established in 2011 as a joint venture between myclimate and ECONOS , the biggest second-hand retailer in the region Hokkaido. Through this partnership, myclimate Japan is now the first carbon offset provider in the Japanese market to sell high quality Gold Standard credits to individuals and corporations.
Luxembourg – MyClimateLux
The NGO MyClimateLux a.s.b.l. was established in June 2008 from Energieagence, the Centre de Recherche Public Henri Tudor and Enovos. MyClimateLux represents the Luxembourg presence of myclimate.
New Zealand – AIRSHED
myclimate is represented in New Zealand by the company AIRSHED. On the AIRSHED website, individuals can reduce their personal CO2 consumption and offset the unavoidable emissions in a carbon offset project.
Norway – Framtiden i våre hender
Framtiden – Future in our Hands is Norway’s largest organisation dealing with global social changes. Additional „Future in Our Hands“ organisations can be found in Sweden, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka and various other countries.
Sweden – U&We
U&We is a consultancy with a focus on sustainability. This myclimate representative offers offsetting through myclimate carbon offset projects. The program called „zeromission“ is directed primarily toward businesses.
Switzerland – Foundation myclimate
Established in 2002 as an initiative of students and professors of ETH Zurich, myclimate is today one of the most important providers of voluntary carbon offset measures. Science-based and market-oriented, myclimate offers a comprehensive package of services for offsetting in accordance with the principles of „avoid – reduce – offset“ and „do the best and offset the rest“.
In Western Switzerland ecoLive is myclimate’s official partner. ecoLive is a consulting office specialized in environmental and sustainability management. Through various projects, it integrates sustainable development in companies and administrative structures.
Turkey – myclimate Türkiye
myclimate Turkiye was established in 2011 as a joint venture between myclimate and ERIH Energy and Energy Commodities Trading Co. Inc. ERIH is the first and only Turkish company active in the carbon emissions and power trading in the European structured and OTC markets. myclimate Turkiye provides all myclimate-services including carbon offsets, education program as well as carbon management services for people and companies in Turkey.
United Arab Emirates – Farnek Avireal
In the Middle East, myclimate is represented by the leading facilities management company Farnek Avireal. In partnership with myclimate, Farnek Avireal provides carbon management services and carbon reduction advisory to UAE companies and supports them offsetting their carbon emissions in carbon offsetting projects of myclimate.
