A ski resort right outside the front door, 3.000 m2 Vitalresidenz Spa and comprehensive childcare: The Dolomiten Residenz****, Sporthotel Sillian on the border to Italy has everything you could possible need for a successful winter holiday in the Tyrolean Alps.

The Ski Centre Hochpustertal promises an abundance of snow and sunshine on the southern slopes of the Alps and up to 100% coverage of snow making facilities. With up to twelve hours childcare per day at the Häppi Päpi Kinderclub, parents have plenty of time to try out the pistes at the hotel owned Ski Centre Hochpustertal – or what’s on offer at the 3.000 m2 „Wellnessresidenz Heinfels Spa“.

The choices on offer with many included services and excellent value for money are why this East Tyrolean Family Wellness Hotel often receives top marks from various hotel checks. Travelling from Munich, cross the motorway border, and then it’s only another 250 kilometres down the Felbertauernstraße to Sillian. Those travelling by rail can take the free shuttle service from Sillian station to the Hotel.

Snow and Fun Sure Skiing until Easter Lots of sun, lots of snow and the Dolomites in all their glory: Guests staying at the Dolomiten Residenz****, Sporthotel Sillian have an irresistible East Tyrolean winter on their doorstep – and a hotel owned ski resort. The first gondola starts at 8.30 hrs in Ski Centre Hochpustertal. Heated 6 seater „Thurntaler“ chairlifts whisk skiers and boarders to altitudes of 2,400 metres where they can carve new tracks in the freshly groomed slopes.

Whether carver, free-rider, boarder or laid back family “cruiser”, the 55 kilometres of pistes are some of East Tyrol’s finest and absolutely snow-sure through to Easter. This is down to the fact that Sillian lies at 1,100 metres altitude and the ski area extends up to altitudes of 2,400 metres. These altitudes on the southern flanks of the Alpine main ridge are the reason why so much snow falls early winter in East Tyrol and, if Mother Nature fails to provide, the largest snow making facilities in East Tyrol can keep the slopes covered.

Even the two XLarge downhill valley runs to Sillian (11 km) and Außervillgraten (9 km) have comprehensive snow making facilities. Skiing and Wellness: A healthy mix Skiing is known to be good for your health, keeps you fit and young and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s. The mid-range altitude levels of the hotel owned Ski Centre Hochpustertal are particularly effective for training and active recreation. Facts that are backed up by the results of two independent studies carried out by Innsbruck University.

3000 m2 Spa-Worldwaiting for you to relax and enjoy

Après ski, you can relish the delights offered by the Dolomiten Residenz in the Vitalresidenz Schloss Heinfels Spa. The 3.000 m² spa offers hot and cold pleasures in the mountain pine sauna, as well as an outdoor log cabin sauna and sweat room, a Tyrolean herbal bath, “Knight’s” steam bath, organic sweat room and saline grotto to get your circulation going. The honey-pine foot bath in a pine bucket is highly recommended in both summer and winter. Kneipp sessions with bucket showers provide cool refreshment and inviting loungers in the quiet room next to an open fire are perfect for relaxing. In addition to the organic care products and luxury cosmetics by the Barbor brand, there is a skin care range with added edelweiss, glacier water and cuckoo flower oil.

The spa wellness treatments and massages are ideal for boosting flagging energy levels in winter and you can “step” into better fitness levels in the new gym on the roof terrace. „Häppi SpeziWell“ is the name of the appropriate package for young spa fans. The little ones have their own children’s indoor pool with a long slide and a designated baby pool. An overall feeling of contentment is enhanced by the fabulous choice of cuisine. If required, East Tyrolean delicacies or light and healthy cuisine can be included in the gourmet board option – and special children’s menus for younger Dolomite guests.
